Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 10:13PM It's cold and windy as hell on the east coast today. Where's spring? Happy Mother's day to my moms and all my mommies out there. I made a new mix that reminds me of the summer heat and a funky vibe. Some Roy Ayers, Stevie, EWF, and Grace to kick thing off sounds like summer to me. By the way, this mix has a lot of vinyl records, which is coll as hell.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 09:16AM I am up late and really bothered about the death of Guru. Life is short ya'll, live it all the way out. Guru left beautiful pieces of art and I thank him for that but I know he had his own family that loved him as just Keith. Live Life ya'll! Love some people, start a business, find a passion and BUY SOME RECORDS.
Here is a Gang Starr/Guru mix fresh out of the lab.

Monday, June 8, 2009 at 06:56PM You know, I love live mixes because you hear the vibe of the night. When the dj is feelin the crowd and the crowd is feelin the dj and it creates that spark that starts that fire that makes that heat...Aw man, that what its about!!. These are three mellow mixes for the summer heat...Bump these in the car on a road trip with the top down or in the back yard when the sun starts to go down or in the park sippin on some wine, you know what the hell I'm talkin about. Special shout out to Kris and Mark, Kim and the team at 201 and Cliff and the crew at H Street
These two are lounge mixes with some Sade and Soul II Soul and some James Brown and Donald Byrd. Defintely for bobbin you head.
Friday, April 3, 2009 at 12:50AM Today, April 2nd, is Marvin Gaye's Birthday and he would be 70 years old today...Such a powerful spirit with such a powerful soul and he delivered such a powerful message. A DC native with original swag...arguably the pioneer of east coast swag..When the world wanted him to go one way, he decided to speak from his soul...Wow...How many artists can say that? Shit, how many people can say that? A living example following your spirit to making timeless art...An inspiration...A Sage...I miss him...Happy Birthday Brother!! Here is a Marvin Mix in celebration. How many times have you heard "Give It Up" in its entirety?
Hmm? What are my top 5 most influential male singers?
5. Curtis Mayfield
4. Donny Hathaway
3. James Brown
2. Stevie Wonder
1. Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley (tie)
Shout out to Teddy Pendergrass, Smokey Robinson and Ray Charles

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own crap, we forget the child of war in Iraq or the hungry orphan in Darfur or the 12 year old girl taking care of 3 siblings because mom is out getting high. THAT'S RIGHT, I AM IN THE PULPIT. I sometimes forget from where my blessings flow and this House Mix reminds me. pump it up in the car after one of those days at work or blast it in the crib when the crap is hitting the fan. Let me know what you think.

This is a live warm up mix with some club bangers old and new. Just a litttle something to bob your head to, a little something to get in a party mood. Always remember; "It ain't trickin' if you got it!" I got the picture from a blog and it is described as "The first deejay" CRAZY!
